My fiance and I set the date for our wedding in January, because I had my heart set on a winter wonderland ceremony and reception. A wedding built around snow and ice can be wonderful, and there are plenty of items you can obtain to make it happen. Presents, invitations, reception supplies – you name it, there are all sorts of things out there for any type of wedding decor. Our wedding ceremony color scheme was in silver and wintery blue. Our altar had replica snowflakes next to the unity candle and other candles, which all had a wintry look to them. It was a magical wedding.
The white tableclothes at our reception looked lovely next to the red table runners on each table. I had beautiful white orchids in gorgeous silver vases for our centerpieces and they went so well with the winter décor. I ran across some snowball ornament place card holders, and I used those for the reception. Whether we use them as ornaments or place card holders, they look fabulous, and they can be used for either. To express our gratitiude for their coming to our special day, we got our relatives and other loved ones champagne bottles favors and matching toasting flutes. champagne flutes make great little thank you gifts. When you looked at our reception tables, all you could think of was the pristine majesty of the wintertime. Our three tiered wedding cake sat on a unique little sled designed cake stand and had a topper that was a porcelain snowflake to complete our winter wedding cake. Our cake serving set was also a winter themed accessory I found while shopping online. The handles had little snowflakes done in white and wintry blue colors. It was an exact match for the sign-in book and pen set I had bought.
For the cool personalized toasting flute, we had beautifully designed winter wedding themed flutes with handles that were exactly like the cake server set and guestbook. The other things on our wedding table went perfectly with them, and they were designed with a wintery blue and white look with snowflakes mixed in. The people who attended our reception liked the presents and place card holders they brought home with them, and the banquet hall looked just gorgeous. We got our flower girl a necklace and we we let her keep the small crown she wore in the ceremony, and she was pleased with both of them. Our ring bearer was excited because he got his own tee shirt and a yo-yo made of stainless steel. For my bridesmaids I chose tank tops with bridesmaid written across in in crystals and for my maid of honor I picked out a maid of honor shirt and a crystal bracelet. The men’s presents were handled by my groom. He bought a best man mug and a neat pen set for the best man, and everyone else received a battery-operated digital clock. I could tell that all of our friends and family were having a fantastic time at the reception and they all seemed to like the little favors and gifts we bought for them.
The array of wedding materials I found on the net made our ceremony and reception a dream come true,for both of us. By finding deals on the web, we were able to come in under our budget. I not only found things for our wedding, but they also had items I could use on our honeymoon. Like the bride and groom hats and tee shirts and the cute little door hanger pillow that says do not disturb. The decorative little pillow really came in handy.

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009I wanted to have a wedding that was not only full of great memories for me, but for our friends and family as well. The presents and favors I got everyone were things that could be treasured for a lifetime. The gifts I bought were meant to be reminders of what an outstanding wedding day and night we had together. I began by selecting keepsake gifts and moved on to things like a wedding invitation keepsake. There were a lot of wedding items to choose from on the internet, with suggestions of very nice items for both ceremonies and receptions. Whatever I needed for my reception, I found it there.
On all of my reception tables were floral centerpieces I had made up at the florist and gorgeous floral scented candles that looked as if they were covered in lace and came with a pretty little ceramic holder. My place card holders were adorable, and I got those on the web as well
The place card holders I decided on were beautiful beaded picture frames that the guests could all keep after the reception. I made up my mind that the people at my wedding woud get practical favors that, afterwards, would be radiant keepsake wedding gifts. Giving out favors that have no practical purpose always struck me as a useless thing to do. If it has no usefullness, it’s probably going to be discarded or forgotten. I wanted our friends and family to have something they will hang on to and remember sharing our special day with us every time they use it. So I chose bistro coffee mugs for each of our friends and family’s gift. It’s a product that any person can utilize, and the ones I got looked really cool. I bought a bunch of pretty hang tags to put on the boxes they arrived in, but the containers were so nice-looking that I just kept them in the boxes they came in.
I found so much online that I could use for our wedding reception. One super item we picked out was our wedding cake topper. I decided to go with something with special meaning to us.
We were playing football together the first time we met, in a friend’s backyard. I got a couple in wedding garb in the middle of a football game to remind us that his first move on me was when he was trying to tackle me. Wednesday, May 6th, 2009Wedding day preparations are always an exhilarating experience, but the number of choices for the décor, gifts, and so on also makes it a somewhat frantic one. I know that when I tried to assist my daughter in planning her wedding, the biggest challenge was trying to get her to settle on one choice. The initial decision was just the overall genre of the wedding: something old-fashioned, or a trendier style of ceremony. We looked through all the themed wedding possibilities and she just couldn’t decide. For her special day, she thought about building the wedding around a lakeshore setting, and then she considered a wedding in an outdoor garden setting. After all the debating, she ended up with the traditional. When she eventually made that decision, it allowed us to get the preparations underway.
The church was reserved, and so was the reception hall, and all of the invitations had been sent out. We focused on the materials we’d need for the reception dinner since her wedding gown and the outfits for the bridesmaids and groomsmen had already been selected. We had to pick out a wedding guest book and a photo album and a few other items that we’d need. There was no shortage of wedding guest books to pick from, and the decorations on a big percentage of them were absolutely beautiful. There were many gorgeous wedding pens to choose from too, that matched with many of the guestbooks. We still had a few items to find when my daughter ran across a six piece wedding set that had a solid white satin cover with satin bows and rhinestones. Finally we were down to the cake topper, place card holders and wedding favors. Everything else was taken care of. Our blushing bride picked out a pair of glazed porcelain doves to use as her cake topper. The pair of doves will make an exquisite figurine that will help her memories of the wedding day last a lifetime. Next we went for the place card holders, and for those my daughter decided to go with little silver picture frames for all of her guests at the reception. The people at the reception would be able to use the frames once the dinner was over, and my daughter thought that was a something they’d like. After looking at all of the items she selected for her ceremony and reception, I’d say she did a pretty good job of it. The extra cash she was able to hang on to by finding good deals is going to get spent when they go on the honeymoon.
It was a beautiful wedding, and the reception looked fantastic. When the bride and groom did their first dance, it was a stunningly beautiful moment. The memories of that night were terrific; I danced until my feet got sore, and I don’t regret a second of it. My little girl was now a wife and would someday be a mother, maybe with a daughter of her own. Well, when that day comes, I know exactly where I’ll go to get the supplies and shower favors for the baby shower I’ll throw. I had a really difficult time finding exactly what I wanted to get for them. I went online and there are quite a few lovely gifts for bridesmaids and all that attend the reception. Narrowing it down was the big challenge. There were also a lot of great deals on thank you gifts that I found at a discount. I chose to go with candle wedding favors because they are very decorative, and you can get a lot of use out of a gift like that. With the decorative favor boxes I found online, I also wanted to attached personalized hang tags on each gift.
I added some fantastic wedding candles to every reception table to add to the ambiance of the wedding. Sunday, May 3rd, 2009Its been many years since my wedding and I can’t believe how much everything has changed for the better, including the decorations. It’s amazing what is out there and the variety you can choose from. There were plenty of suggestions for beach weddings that I thought were very nice with little seashells, starfish and other oceanside designs. There were also some pretty clever ideas for garden and other summer and spring weddings and receptions. You could get beautiful new wedding accessories for all 4 seasons. The season that was amazing was the winter season because of all the Christmas colors and decorations you can add to your reception. Did you know that some couples actually have a winter wedding outside? That sounds beautiful, but it seems just a little too modern, and too cold for my taste. I think I would be just fine with an indoor winter wedding and reception. The best place for a winter wedding would be in a setting with a warm cozy fire and warm atmosphere.
An autumn wedding is so gorgeous and one of my favorite seasons, and has lot to offer in wedding accessories and reception supplies. An autumn wedding would be so beautiful because of the beautiful scenery with the colors changing and awesome fall scents in the air. When I was married many years ago the only options you had was a church wedding or a county building to get married. Now there are so many different types of weddings you can really have your ceremony exactly the way you want to. I’ve heard of weddings where the location is out of state or even the country and all the friends and famliy fly to that location to have the wedding ceremony. It seems like a great way to escape for all the friends and family. Soon my daughter will be getting married and I have been helping her to prepare for her country western wedding and reception. She has everything all planned out to be more of a huge family cookout, hayride, picnic type of reception. It sounds like it will be a fantastic time for all the guests. They even planned to have some country western line dancing in the barn. Now that I knew what to expect I decided to get all the western gear, like blue jeans, cowboy boots, and cowboy hats so I can participate in all the fun. Everybody will always remember this wedding. Thanks to my daughters great country themed wedding, she’s given me a great idea for our anniversary.
